How does the STARTOFQUARTER function (DAX) work?

The STARTOFQUARTER function (DAX) returns the first date of the quarter in the current context for the specified column of dates.

STARTOFQUARTER Formula Syntax

STARTOFQUARTER(
     <dates>
)

How do you use the STARTOFQUARTER function?

This function filters <Dates> into a 1-row, 1-column table that shows only the earliest date, in the entire <Dates> column devoid of all filters, that is in the same year and quarter as the earliest visible date in <Dates>.
